My Bio

As a candidate for Colville City Council At-Large and a lifelong resident of Colville and its surrounding areas, I, Muriel Meyer, believe that strong infrastructure is the backbone of a thriving community. With 34 years of experience managing nonprofits and leading volunteer crews, I know what it takes to plan effectively, promote growth, and protect the interests of the people we serve. From reliable utilities to safe, well-maintained streets, I’m committed to building the foundation our city needs to support local businesses, empower young entrepreneurs, and ensure responsive, transparent city leadership. My vision for Colville centers on planning, promoting, and protecting — for today and for the future."

My Key Issues

Youth Engagement

Helping young people understand and develop their unique offering to the world upon leaving high school is important. Many young adults face underemployment—not just needing a job, but needing the right job. Career development programs help them find pathways into meaningful, well-paying work, reducing the economic drag of unemployment or low-wage labor.

Vacant property revitalization

In small cities, vacant properties can be more than just eyesores—they can represent stalled potential, economic drag, and even public safety concerns. But with the right strategy, these empty lots, buildings, and storefronts can become engines of revitalization.

Quality of Life

City councils don’t have to run businesses—but they do have to help them run better. A city’s economy is only as strong as its infrastructure and the people who power it. When city councils invest in roads, sidewalks, and adequate sewer & water, they’re laying the foundation for local businesses—and entire communities—to thrive.
